Just kidding
I’m always curious when something tragic will happen and this is as close as it has come so far.

Play stupid games, win stupid prizes. No sympathy.
EDIT: also, why not just grind it against the wall if the brakes are failed you’re worried about dying?

That burned Audi story is weird. He had a leak in “one side” of his dual master cylinder braking system... but said he lost “all brakes” and the E-brake failed right away, too. I don’t understand how he lost power to the E-brake in the rear system right away, but really don’t see how a leaking line-coupling on one side (which did cause a bad smoky fire, since it was next to the exhaust on that side) caused him to lose both sides. It’s very strange .

Does it have an electronic E brake? I’m guessing those don’t handle fire very well.

Probab l y could’ve saved the car if he bi t the bullet and ground to a stop, then got an extinguisher on the fire earlier.
Spend that much money on modifying these cars yet only one person spent the $80 on an extinguisher.

I’m guessing the brakes weren’t particularly well-sorted on it to begin with. E-brake might not have been working well even before the runs.

The car also will not allow you to engage an electric parking brake when in motion. No idea when Audi phased out manual parking brakes so that might not apply here.

Yeah, the Drive coverage indicated that it was E-Brake equipped . Seems like it would at least try to apply pressure to the rears, but it’s possible the whole thing wasn’t sorted right at all. The had electric power to the interior gauges throughout so was at least guessing they had electrical power.

Sadly, I’m not sure it was safe at 50 much less 150. At least they got out.

They weren’t *all* racing in that photo .
Still working on data with the swaybar, but it is outperforming the factory unit thus far. Not where I want it, but closer.

E-brakes haven't been E-brakes in years on many many cars. They're parking brakes, not intended to stop a vehicle in an emergency. And electric ones do not engage when in motion. But people still think of and refer to them as E-brakes.
